I would find this feature very useful as well. We are currently using a bash script with HERE document to run sosreport. would be much better to either have a full auto mode (it picks the values) or some command line options to specify the name, etc. An option to automatically mail the report somewhere would be useful as well.
Hi Jim, If you would please create a BZ for the email feature under RHEL5 and RHEL4 so that it can be considered in a later release. Thank you Adam
Release note added. If any revisions are required, please set the "requires_release_notes" flag to "?" and edit the "Release Notes" field accordingly. All revisions will be proofread by the Engineering Content Services team. New Contents: * when run, sosreport asks the user for a name and a ticket number. Previously, this meant that the tool could not be run without user input. Sosreport now includes options to supply a name and ticket number at the command line (with --name and --ticket), so that sosreport can be called automatically by an application. This enables applications to collect data automatically at the time that a problem occurs.
