What about reproducibility? Is this issue reproducible?
I found similar issue #456664. I could be the same problem. 1) Please try to run "/etc/init.d/iptables stop" on this system. Any oops? 2) Try updated RHEL4 kernel available at http://people.redhat.com/vgoyal/rhel4. It should solve this problem.
