Description Jay Turner 2008-10-14 12:38:23 UTC
Description of problem:
I've got a machine with an Intel Corporation 82G965 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02). Starting with the 2.6.18-118.el5 kernel (where lots of fixes went in to support Cantiga and Eaglelake) X no longer works on the box. Instead I get:

(WW) INTEL: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:2:1) found
(EE) GARTInit: Unable to open /dev/agpgart (No such file or directory)
(EE) INTEL(0): Failed to allocate framebuffer. Is your VideoRAM set too low?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.18-118.el5 and 2.6.18-119.el5

How reproducible:
Always

Proposing for a beta blocker. This graphics support (Cantiga/Eaglelake) missed the deadlines and therefore we have no choice but to hold the beta until we can assess the exposure from the 965 cards (and possibly others) no longer working.
