Description of problem:

According  http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-raid@vger.kernel.org/msg06778.html the patch would fix several performance issues on RHEL4 with RAID1 and RAID10. A customer need this patch backported to the RHEL4 kernel.

Since RHEL 4.8 External Beta has begun, and this bugzilla remains 
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as exception or 
blocker.

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.  Product Management has requested
further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed
products.  This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update
release.

QA ACK for RHEL4.8. If possible, could customer provide performance comparison of patched/unpatched kernel?

Any updates here? Has this issue been resolved in the RHEL 4.8 Beta? later kernel?
