Texlive package .spec file includes the following line: # Don't run brp-python-bytecompile %define __os_install_post /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/brp-compress /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/brp-strip %{__strip} /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/brp-strip-static-archive %{__strip} /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/brp-strip-comment-note %{__strip} %{__objdump} %{nil} There appear to be two versions of brp-compress tools: The one in /usr/lib/rpm/redhat come from redhat-rpm-config The one in /usr/lib/rpm come from rpm-build package. Texlive should have a BuildRequires: redhat-rpm-config added, or it should be switched to use the /usr/lib/rpm version instead of /usr/lib/rpm/redhat...
A similar problem exists for the texlive-texmf package as well.
