Description Christopher D. Stover 2008-10-24 19:17:18 UTC
Description of problem: During the most recent rawhide update, I had dependency problems with vlc-core and gstreamer-plugins-bad so I uninstalled both and the update worked. Now, when I try to reinstall gstreamer-plugins-bad I'm getting the same dependency problems, which makes sense I suppose.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Package directfb-1.2.6-3.fc10.i386 already installed and latest version
^^^ This provides the libraries gstreamer-plugins-bad is complaining about not having.

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run rawhide update
2.
3.

Actual results:
I had to uninstall gstreamer-plugins-bad in order to perform the rawhide update.

Expected results:
Rawhide update should have succeeded without having to uninstall gstreamer-plugins-bad.

Additional info:
[Chris@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install gstreamer-plugins-bad

Wow, today is not my day... Correct link: https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92

Comment 3 Christopher D. Stover 2008-10-24 21:38:34 UTC
I'm told this wasn't as much a problem with gstreamer-plugins-bad or vlc as much as with: "releasing an ABI-incompatible upgrade, which jumps from libdirect-1.0.so.0 to libdirect-1.2.so.0". I've changed the component to directfb and reopened the bug.

Comment 4 Nicolas Chauvet (kwizart) 2008-10-25 10:03:37 UTC
Not a directfb problem.
gstreamer-plugins-bad and vlc need a rebuild
Maintainer have been warned and this will appear in few hours.

CLOSING TO NOTABUG
(bug should be assigned to gstreamer-plugins-bad/vlc via the rpmfusion bugzilla)
