Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 468599
Add Atheros 802.11n USB driver
Last modified: 2008-10-28 11:32:47 EDT
Description of problem:
Atheros just released their 802.11n USB driver as Open Source. This will be accepted upstream very quickly. See here,
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
It's been known to work with 126.96.36.199
Steps to Reproduce:
Atheros USB 802.11n driver works.
Greg K-H has added this driver to drivers/staging -- dunno what the Fedora kernel policy is on enabling those drivers.
Personally, I'm opposed to this driver as it stands today -- it doesn't even properly support the Wireless Extension API, and it requires its own wpa_supplicant driver. If/when it gets merged to drivers/wireless, then I will support it being enabled in Fedora.
