Description Christopher Beland 2008-10-28 22:01:09 UTC
If I right-click on an image in gqview and select "Edit" and then "in The Gimp...", nothing happens, other than that I get the error "Unknown option -n" on the xterm from which I started gqview. The image should open in gimp. This is with:

gqview-2.0.4-6.i386
gimp-2.4.7-3.fc9.i386

Oddly, "gimp -n" does work on the command line, and /usr/bin/gimp is the only one in my path.

That's an old setting saved in your local config file.

Please edit $HOME/.gqview/gqviewrc and delete the external_1
option, then restart GQview.

Alternatively, reconfigure inside GQview Preferences to run
"gimp-remote %f" for The Gimp.

[...]

Also note the existence of "Geeqie", a fork of the GQview, which
is being developed further. Package in Fedora is "geeqie".

That solution fixed the problem. Thanks for the tip about geeqie, too; I just installed it and it looks spiffy.
