Description of problem: The Epoch-Version-Release (EVR) of ghc goes backwards from F8 updates to F9 updates, breaking the upgrade path. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ghc-6.8.2-8.fc8 dist-f8-updates bos ghc-6.8.2-2.fc9 dist-f9 bos (from koji latest-pkg - the dist-f9 build gets picked up because there's no build in dist-f9-updates) How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade from F8 with updates to F9 with updates. Actual results: ghc (and ghc682*) from F8 still there (as shown by yum list extras and the equivalent Synaptic feature). Expected results: ghc upgraded to F9 version. Additional info: The EVR in F9 updates MUST be higher than the EVR in F8 updates. Please push an F9 update with a higher EVR as soon as possible.
I am going to push ghc-6.8.3 to f9-updates which will fix this (this happened since ghc682 doesn't build with gcc43).
Hopefully ghc-6.8.3-10.fc9 building now in koji will fix this.
(In reply to comment #1) > (this happened since ghc682 doesn't build with gcc43). Actually it is not gcc43 since ghc-6.8.2 doesn't want to build with compat-gcc-34 either.
