Description Matěj Cepl 2008-11-27 12:45:49 UTC
Description of problem:
When running "man:man" command from the command launcher (what happens after Alt+F2) I get yelp running but with the error message saying that

The requested URI "man:///man" is invalid

when trying to run yelp man:man on the command line it works perfectly, and yes when running yelp man:///man from the command line I get the same error.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
yelp-2.24.0-3.fc10.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Alt+F2
2.man:man
3.

Actual results:
yelp starts and ends with error message

Expected results:
manpage should be displayed

Comment 1 Matěj Cepl 2008-11-27 12:46:52 UTC
This is most likely wrong component, but I am just currently investigating who is reposnsible for the command launcher dialog. gnome-panel? nautilus? Feel free to reassign.

Comment 2 Matěj Cepl 2008-11-27 13:44:33 UTC
Reassigning to more likely violator.

Comment 3 Matthias Clasen 2008-11-28 03:34:29 UTC
The underlying cause of this is in gvfs:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562518
It could be worked around in the panel or in yelp, if we can't get it fixed in gvfs.

Comment 4 Matěj Cepl 2008-11-28 17:52:38 UTC
There is nothing to triage here.

Switching to ASSIGNED so that developers have responsibility to do whatever they want to do with it.

Comment 5 Bug Zapper 2009-06-09 09:57:20 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 11 development cycle.
Changing version to '11'.

More information and reason for this action is here:

Comment 6 Bug Zapper 2010-04-27 12:23:17 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 11 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 11. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '11'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 11's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 11 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 7 Jakub Hrozek 2010-04-27 12:27:58 UTC
Still there in F12

Comment 11 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 16:52:25 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.
