Description of problem: The bar on the bottom contains dropdowns to select language, keyboard and session. It also has a notification area. Therefor the bar become very wide. 800*600 and below does not work, so gdm is not usable on for netbooks and alike any longer.
Would anybody like to comment on this one? When you do, please keep in mind that some countries have keyboard layouts with longer names than just "US", for example here in Germany we use "Latin de-latin1-nodeadkyes". And there are countries with more than one language, so this dropdown is getting large, too. E.g: "Switzerland (Swiss)".

This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
The current shell-based login screen should work fine in 800x600
