Created attachment 341016 [details] patch to enhanced EEH recovery over cxgb3 RDMA for RHEL54
This enhancement request was evaluated by the full Red Hat Enterprise Linux team for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux minor release. As a result of this evaluation, Red Hat has tentatively approved inclusion of this feature in the next Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update minor release. While it is a goal to include this enhancement in the next minor release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the enhancement is not yet committed for inclusion in the next minor release pending the next phase of actual code integration and successful Red Hat and partner testing.
in kernel-2.6.18-144.el5 You can download this test kernel from http://people.redhat.com/dzickus/el5 Please do NOT transition this bugzilla state to VERIFIED until our QE team has sent specific instructions indicating when to do so. However feel free to provide a comment indicating that this fix has been verified.
------- Comment From wenxiong.com 2009-06-09 23:48 EDT------- This feature is also for support EEH recovery over cxgb3 interface in RDMA enviroment. The currect REHL54 kernel includes the latest cxgb3 NIC code but missing the second patch in this feature. The second patch is for enhanced EEH recovery over cxgb3 RDMA. I am going to open a bugzilla bug to address that part code in iw_cxgb3. Thanks, Wendy

Hi, I have opened ticket 510808 to track a series of bug fixes committed to kernel.org. Cheers, Divy
------- Comment From wenxiong.com 2009-07-14 19:57 EDT------- I have verified this feature in Snap1. Basically patches/code have been intergrated into iw_cxgb3 module. EEH recovery over RDMA/cxgb3 works with a very minor workaround in /etc/init.d/openibd(Infiniband start script) I spent lots of time to figure this out. openibd script in snap1 is difference with one in rhl53: the order to load infiniband modules are difference. I am going to open another bug for that minor workaround. Thanks, Wendy
Thanks for the information. Please post a link to the new bug created for the issue you've reported against the init script.
------- Comment From wenxiong.com 2009-07-15 23:06 EDT------- I have opened a IBM bugzilla bug and attach the patch in it. [Bug 54742] RHEL5.4 Snap1: feature 50951 failed with new e/tc/init.d/openibd init script After mirror to RedHat, you should see that bug. Thanks, Wendy
Okay, i am closing this bug then as VERIFIED. Make sure to escalate the new init bug to your partner manager as soon as it's mirrored. Its getting very late in the release cycle, so the chances of getting it accepted and fixed for 5.4 are getting lower by the day. Thanks.
Hi, I had opened https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510818 on 07/10 to incorporate a series of bug fixes. I've not seen any activity in this regard. I'd really like to see these fixes in. Cheers, Divy
------- Comment From wenxiong.com 2009-07-31 10:31 EDT------- I have verified EEH recovery over RDMA/cxgb3 in Snap4. Works fine now. Thanks, Wendy
