Description of problem: My IBM ThinkPad Z61t looses it's sound after installing the operating system.  This occurred with F9 and one day it started working.  Now it has failed with F10.  It doesn't come back with a reboot.  Any ideas?

gnome-audio has nothing to do with your sound not working. I would encourage you to contact a forum or a mailing-list instead of taking a pot shot in the dark.
