Created attachment 329926 [details] /var/log/messages from startup, showing gdm crash and respawn Today I rebooted after updating to a new kernel. The system boots, X starts, and then gdm appears and disappears several times. System logs show what looks like a gdm crash and respawn. This is with: gdm-2.25.2-3.fc11.x86_64 kernel-2.6.29-0.48.rc2.git1.fc11.x86_64 http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pub_eba41bd2-accd-4ce7-9ab3-46196a69ed17 The attached logs are long, but I'm not sure what parts would be helpful. There are several warnings which may be unrelated, and some avc denials apparently from gdb kicking in after the crash? (Though I have SELinux in permissive mode.) gdm is also putting out a lot of debugging information (which it was even with normal operation). The crash trace starts at the line that says: Jan 24 17:20:00 free-spin gdm-simple-greeter[2530]: Gtk-CRITICAL: _gtk_im_module_get_default_context_id: assertion `client_window != NULL' failed#012aborting...
Promptly fixed with an update to gtk2-2.15.1-3.fc11.x86_64.
