Description gareth foster 2009-02-04 12:02:57 UTC
Just wondered if it'd be possible for X/Gnome or whatever to give you a clue why an application is taking its time starting up or responding.

When an app isn't responding, if you've got compiz and that, it goes grey. What about adding an icon over the grey to show its stuck waiting for CPU, network, HDD, CD, RAM?

Just a thought for a neat little enhancement.

Probably should go somewhere to Gnome-land. Reassigning.

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2009-02-05 20:12:32 UTC
Lipstick on a pig, if you ask me. Instead of displaying a shinier 'we fail' notice, the apps should be fixed to not block in the first place.

Also, nobody has this information, really.

Finally, this has nothing to do with gtk.

I don't see this getting any traction inside RH bugzilla. Your best bet for finding smoeone who might bite is to go to the compiz mailing list, I'd say...
