The ext4 codebase for tech preview in RHEL5.3 was a very early cut, with now-known bugs and missing features. We should rebase ext4 to the upstream codebase for RHEL5.4.
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release.

It's hard to tell from this exactly which problem is being fixed, so, FWIW, Fedora 10, 2.6.27 (stock) kernel, 200G ext4 FS created by Anaconda. Create a 7G file, delete it: fsck.ext4 shows errors.
Geoff, this bug is just for a wholesale ext4 rebase in RHEL5.4. If you're having problems on Fedora 10 could you please file a new bug against F10? Feel free to assign it to me. Thanks, -Eric
