Description of problem: Display gets dimmed on idle although I have turned this behavior off. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-power-manager-2.24.4-1.fc10.i386 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start computer on AC 2. Make sure idle_dim_battery is turned off: $ gconftool-2 -g /apps/gnome-power-manager/backlight/idle_dim_battery false 3. Wait a little Actual results: Backlight is dimmed on idle. Expected results: Backlight should not be dimmed Additional info: Also happens when calling gnome-power-preferences, sometimes even when I'm typing. Using an Asus F3P.

If it's happening when you're typing, then it shouldn't be the idle code. Do you have an ambient light sensor in your laptop?
The dimming while typing is not reproducible reliably, not sure if it's related my other brightness problems from bug #485845. No, the Asus F3P has no light sensor.
This should be all now fixed on F11.
