Xorg.0.log with nouveau driver
Description of problem:
X does not start on boot using the nouveau driver.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. use nouveau driver
Xorg process uses ~100% of the CPU.
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller : nVidia Corporation GeForce 8400 GS [10de:06e4] (rev a1)
It seems to work correctly with the nv driver.

When I boot with nouveau.modeset=1, then it works fine (so far at least).

Are you able to attempt this again with the most recent versions of both the kernel and xorg-x11-drv-nouveau and report what you see?
I've tried with the latest rawhide with the same behavior as noted before. It works with nouveau.modeset=1, but without that, Xorg consumes 100% of the CPU and it remains a blank screen.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 11 development cycle.
Changing version to '11'.
More information and reason for this action is here:
Kernel modesetting is now the preferred and default path in rawhide, the userspace modesetting paths are now considered deprecated upstream, so closing this as fixed in rawhide.
