Description Corey Welton 2009-04-17 15:17:08 UTC
Description of problem:

We show a warning message about Extended Update Support, even when a user is not using such channels. It is contextually confusing to display this message when user is not mucking with EUS channels, and should probably only be shown in such a scenario.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. $system > Alter Channel Subscriptions
2. Choose a different, non-EUS channel (or "(none, disable service)") and hit Confirm
3. View resulting page.

Actual results:
A warning is displayed on page:

Warning: If you have installed packages from any channels that are highlighted above, those packages will no longer receive software updates, including critical security updates, when this system is moved to Extended Update Support.

Expected results:

I probably don't want to see this -- and in fact might very well be confused by it -- if I am not dealing with EUS channels.

We have not addressed this specific bug in over 5 years years. This does not seem to have an active customer case with the bug report either. Closing out as wontfix to clear from backlog.

Please re-open if you disagree and wish further review.
