Hmm, don't like the idea of adding a binutils dependency on pptp, so I think there are two things to do: 1. Tweak pptpsetup to not check for mppe support in the kernel and pppd unless --encrypt is specified 2. On all currently-supported releases except RHEL4, completely remove the checks for mppe support in the kernel and pppd because we already know that support is present That way, we'd only need the binutils dependency in RHEL4, and in fact we don't need it there either because we have pptp 1.7.1 on there, which doesn't include pptpsetup at all.
