Description of problem: If I have say a x86_64 system, I would like to create a service pack that contains both 32-bit and 64-bit equivalents for the same packages similar to the concept of universal or fat binaries so a user is able to use the same service pack regardless of the architecture.
We can't do this. To a 32 bit yum install, downloading 64 bit packages is just impossible.
It isn't really impossible. The repos all have something like mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-source-$releasever&arch=$basearch Replace the basearch with the right value and you get the packages you want. I will explain the use case. I run a install fest and provide a single service pack of commonly used third party repo packages to all the users who get the packages regardless of the architecture
