Description Winfrid Tschiedel 2009-06-17 13:44:42 UTC
Description of problem:
The product structure of fipscheck fronm rhel 5.3 to 5.4 has been changed.
For fipscheck-1.0.3-1.el5 there were 2 rpms, one for ia64 and one for
i386 ( on RHEL5.3-Server-20090106.0-ia64-compat-layer-i386.iso ).
On 5.4 the product was splitted into 2 parts - fipscheck (ia64) and
a librarypart fipscheck-lib. But there is no fipscheck-lib-1.2.0-1.el5.i386.rpm
on RHEL5.4-Server-20090608.0-ia64-compat-layer-i386.iso

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to upgarde fipscheck 32-bit on a ia64 system
2.
3.

Actual results:
32-bit fipscheck-lib is missing

Expected results:

Comment 1 Daniel Mach 2009-06-17 16:38:53 UTC
The package itself is all right.
This is a distribution problem - we need to add fipscheck-lib to compat layer on ia64.
Reassigning and changing the component.

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2009-06-17 16:41:01 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion, but this component is not scheduled to be updated in
the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. If you would like
this request to be reviewed for the next minor release, ask your
support representative to set the next rhel-x.y flag to "?".

Comment 7 Alexander Todorov 2009-07-01 11:55:09 UTC
With the latest RHEL5.4 compose I have:

$ find -name "fipscheck*"
./os/Server/fipscheck-devel-1.2.0-1.el5.ia64.rpm
./os/Server/fipscheck-1.2.0-1.el5.ia64.rpm
./os/Server/fipscheck-lib-1.2.0-1.el5.ia64.rpm
./debug/fipscheck-debuginfo-1.2.0-1.el5.i386.rpm
./debug/fipscheck-debuginfo-1.2.0-1.el5.ia64.rpm
./compatlayer/Server/fipscheck-lib-1.2.0-1.el5.i386.rpm

fipscheck-lib is present in compatlayer repository. Will test upgrades now.

Comment 8 Alexander Todorov 2009-07-01 14:42:38 UTC
On default install of RHEL5.3 with fipscheck I've installed ia32el and fipscheck.i386 from the compatlayer repository. Then I've configured repositories for the latest RHEL5.4 build incl. compat layer and run yum update.

The result:
# rpm -qa | grep fipscheck
fipscheck-1.2.0-1.el5
fipscheck-lib-1.2.0-1.el5
fipscheck-lib-1.2.0-1.el5

Both fipscheck packages were successfully replaced by fipscheck-libs and updated. Moving to VERIFIED.
