Description of problem:
Authorization fails when launching `system-config-printer` as root (from a bash prompt).  When launched as an unprivileged user, the utility prompts for the root password and works as expected.

system-config-printer-1.1.7-4.fc11.i586


How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:
1. In runlevel 5, open a terminal
2. su - 
3. system-config-printer
4. failure comes when adding a new printer
