Description Jonathon Walker 2009-07-01 18:00:40 UTC
Created attachment 350163 [details]
a sample xorg.conf

Description of problem:
glxinfo and glxgears fail with "Bad Length" errors.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
glx-utils-7.5-0.14.fc11.x86_64

How reproducible:
One system so far.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure X using system-config-display (or manually edit xorg.conf)
2. reboot to apply X settings (boot into graphical multiuser)
3. run glxinfo or glxgears

Actual results:
# glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length error)
Major opcode of failed request: 137 (DRI2)
Minor opcode of failed request: 1 (DRI2Connect)
Serial number of failed request: 19
Current serial number in output stream: 19

Expected results:
Information about glx on this system

Additional info:
similar errors for glxgears, openarena and other apps that attempt to use DRI
Attached is one of many xorg.conf files I tried.
Video card is ATI Technologies Inc Radeon HD 3870

Comment 1 Jonathon Walker 2009-07-01 22:03:53 UTC
Resolved with reinstall of glx-utils and mesa-libGL packages.
