Description of problem:
the ximian red-carpet rpm updater no longer runs after upgrading a 7.1
system to roswell.  red-carpet (real-carpet) reports following errors:

"Unable to access packaging subsystem"
"unable to open rpm library"

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.run red-carpet
2.provide root password at dialog box
3.watch red-carpet halt with error
	

Actual Results:  red-carpet fails to run

Expected Results:  red-carpet should run

Additional info:

Severity depends on what caused the problem and if this should be fixed by
RedHat or Ximian.  See also Bug 6461 at ximian:

Talk to Ximian about statically linking against rpm-4.0.3.
