Description Lubomir Rintel 2009-07-09 15:13:23 UTC
SPEC: http://v3.sk/~lkundrak/SPECS/aws.spec
SRPM: http://v3.sk/~lkundrak/SRPMS/aws-1.42-1.fc11.src.rpm

Description:

aws is a command-line tool that gives you easy access to Amazon EC2 and
Amazon S3. It is designed to be simple to install and simple to use. The
package contains command line interface similar to Amazon API tools, making
it possible to use it as a drop-in free replacement.

Comment 1 R P Herrold 2009-07-09 15:39:00 UTC
As packaged it assumes it can reach out through the network, and that the builder has AWS keying. neither assumption is reasonable, and a conditional to not emit the build message may be in order

   ...
+ perl aws --link
sanity-check: "/home/herrold/.awssecret": file is missing. (Format: AccessKeyID\nSeecretAccessKey\n)
+ /usr/lib/rpm/find-debuginfo.sh /home/herrold/rpmbuild/BUILD/timkay-aws-ecf8838a2982fdc28e713c5c4fc9c706cb04adbe
   ...

Comment 2 Lubomir Rintel 2009-07-09 16:11:14 UTC
I noticed that that it seems it only contains a check for the awssecret file, which it does not even read, definitely not accessing network, therefore it is harmless (unless I missed something really obvious).

Comment 3 Lubomir Rintel 2009-10-29 13:32:45 UTC
I am no longer interested in this package. If anyone wants to resurrect it feel free to. I'd gladly help if needed.
