Mozilla developers and community members identified and fixed several stability bugs in the browser engine used in Firefox and other Mozilla-based products. Some of these crashes showed evidence of memory corruption under certain circumstances and we presume that with enough effort at least some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code. Christophe Charron reported a crash occuring when multiple RDF files were loaded in a XUL tree element.
This issue has been addressed in following products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Via RHSA-2009:1162 https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2009-1162.html
MITRE's CVE-2009-2464 entry: The nsXULTemplateQueryProcessorRDF::CheckIsSeparator function in Mozilla Firefox before 3.0.12, SeaMonkey 2.0a1pre, and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via vectors related to loading multiple RDF files in a XUL tree element.
