I can confirm this happens to me too. Sabayon 2.25.0 on up to date Fedora 11 x86_64. Logfiles attached above.
This is still happening on 2.28.1-2.fc12. Is there any movement on this? I am anxious to get going with sabayon to create an environment for doing practical exams at uni, but this is a blocker. It is a shame because it looks really neat--but this bug is nearly six months old now.

There's sabayon-2.29.2-1.fc12 available in F12 repositories which introduced lots of bugfixes - can you try that? Also there's a sabayon-2.29.5-2.fc13 release available from rawhide, which might work even better.
Thanks! I can't find it in updates or updates-testing, though. Do you mean that I should get it from koji? (Not sure if I know how to do that.) I did try installing the rawhide one, but it couldn't then find the xguest profile. It had also pulled in some other scary bits from rawhide, and I was a bit worried about trashing the installation, so I downgraded again.
sabayon-2.29.2-1.fc12 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 12. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/sabayon-2.29.2-1.fc12

From the Changelog: /etc/desktop-profile moved to /etc/sabayon/profiles Manual Migration: mv /etc/desktop-profiles/*.xml /etc/sabayon mv /etc/desktop-profiles/*.zip /etc/sabayon/profiles

The change you're referring to is between 2.29.2 and 2.29.5, yes? The new sabayon from f12-updates seems still to be looking in /etc/desktop-profiles. It has just successfully located and edited /etc/desktop-profiles/xguest.zip, in any case.

sabayon-2.29.2-1.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
