Description of problem:
When I press F9 (Shortcut key for gnome terminal) once, multiple terminals open. The number seems random, but it is usually between 10 and 30. It seems to stop if I mash some other keys in time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press F9 once (user defined short cut key)

Many terminal windows open

Expected results:
One terminal window opens

This seems like a metacity or hardware bug to me.

Sorry, it probably is metacity.

I'm fairly sure it isn't hardware. This behaviour appeared when I upgraded to F11.

I have similar issue. My gnome-terminal is assigned on ctrl+alt+t. if I press shortcut on initialization gnome session, I will get 20-30 terminals.
