This got disabled upstream due to supposedly not working well enough: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=978089 Quite a bold assertion, considering showing remaining time has been done for ages in pretty much all the power management interfaces around (and the time which is displayed comes (through Solid) from HAL which is presumably where all the previous interfaces got it from as well).
Yeah, i've never had any issues with it.
Just tried manually adding showRemainingTime=false to my plasma-desktop-appletsrc, didn't seem to make a difference (tried =true too).
