Comment 1 Tim Waugh 2009-08-04 07:46:55 UTC
Fedora 11 works fine on the same hardware by the way.

Hmm, I wonder if I've given you the right lcpci -nvv output. Here's the lspci part:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B64 [FireGL V3100 (PCIE)] (rev 80)
01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B64 [FireGL V3100 (PCIE)] (Secondary) (rev 80)

Here's lspci -nvv output from Fedora 11 for 01:00.0:

Comment 2 Joachim Frieben 2009-08-04 16:18:27 UTC
Entry "AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0" points to this issue being a duplicate of bug 512757. Adding "radeon.modeset=0" should allow to obtain a working X environment.
