Description Jacek Radzikowski 2009-08-04 05:06:47 UTC
Description of problem:
The version of Kicad distributed with F11 is several releases old. The most recent version is 2009-02-16, while Fedora comes with 2007.07.09. The new release offers many improvements over the one included in the distro. Some of them are essential for circuit and board design, also, the usability of the new version is much better than the in the repo.

As you can see on the above comment, a new release was pushed. This has been the work of several weeks and takeover from previous Fedora kicad maintainer. You can learn more here

If this release works for you, please give it a "karma" on

Comment 3 Jacek Radzikowski 2009-08-04 18:45:54 UTC
kicad-2009.07.07-3.rev1863.fc11 is not available neither in the "updates" nor "updates-testing" repos yet. Should I add another repo to be able to install it?

Comment 4 Chitlesh GOORAH 2009-08-04 18:50:13 UTC
either you download the rpms from https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/kicad-2009.07.07-3.rev1863.fc11

or wait till the mirrors are updated.

In both cases, it will be the same RPMS.
