Description Bob Shanteau 2009-08-12 19:54:52 UTC
Description of problem:
Installing Rawhide from boot.iso dated 12-Aug-2009 05:00 yields this Error message:

_____

Unable to read package metadata from repository. This may be due to a missing repodata directory. Please ensure that your repository has been correctly generated.

Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rawhide. Please verify its path and try again.
_____

Trying again repeatedly produces the same Error message. Installation cannot proceed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Rawhide boot.iso dated 12-Aug-2009 05:00, both i386 and x86_64 versions.

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot from CD created using boot.iso.
2. Proceed through installation process: Accept English, entire drive, eth0 settings.

Actual results:
Get Error message

Expected results:
Successful install.

Additional info:
If I hit the Edit key, I see that the URL it is trying to use for the repository directory is:

https://mirrors.fedorproject.org/metalink?repo=rawhide&arch=i386

and that "URL is a mirror list" is checked.

I see that repomd.xml is on the mirror sites, for instance:

http://fedora.mirrors.tds.net/pub/fedora/development/i386/os/repodata/repomd.xml

which has a date of 12-Aug-2009 03:14.

There's more message in 517171, so I'm forward duping this one. Plus it's already on the blocker list.
