Description Tom Tromey 2009-08-21 14:43:40 UTC
Description of problem:

Playing a sound in Emacs does not work.
Try something like:

(play-sound-file "/usr/share/sounds/question.wav")

I get an error: No usable sound device driver found

I believe this happens because Emacs' configure did not
find the ALSA libraries. See the upstream Emacs bug:

http://emacsbugs.donarmstrong.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=4208

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

opsy. rpm -q emacs
emacs-23.1-1.fc11.i586

I think the fix would be to add the appropriate BuildRequires to
emacs.spec.

Comment 1 Daniel Novotny 2009-08-24 12:55:00 UTC
OK, adding BuildRequires: alsa-lib-devel
