This is not > wanted on systems running xscreensaver, since it (may) break the proper desired > working of the screensaver Yes, f-spot should not directly pull in gnome-screensaver. I propose the following solution: - the screensaver plugin of f-spot will be moved into a sub-package - only the sub-package requires gnome-screensaver However to avoid that users who already use f-spot as screensaver loose this functionality during update, the following update behavior will be implemented: a) if f-spot < 0.6.1.1 was already installed, it will be replaced by f-spot and f-spot-screensaver - sure, f-spot-screensaver and gnome-screensaver can be removed without any dependency problems and each consecutive update will just update f-spot itself b) installing f-spot from scratch will only install f-spot, if the screensaver plugin is needed, it can be installed additionally
f-spot-0.6.1.2-1.fc11.1 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 11. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/f-spot-0.6.1.2-1.fc11.1
The one in test-updates seems to be fine. I could just update f-spot and leave out f-spot-screensaver using yumex. Thanks Jouk
