Description of problem: After upgrading to 4.3 my panel now takes up a blank area and automatic resizing when hiding icons in the system tray does not occur. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Name : kdebase-workspace Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 4.3.0 Vendor: Fedora Project Release : 9.fc11 Build Date: Sun 23 Aug 2009 06:08:40 PM MST Install Date: Sat 29 Aug 2009 04:03:51 AM MST Build Host: x86-3.fedora.phx.redhat.com How reproducible: Create a panel that is set to automatically hide, and is centered. In my case, it's only a system tray, and a few icons, and a YAWP. When I show the hidden icons, the panel resizes to be larger, but when hiding the icons the panel does not resize down. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: panel remains large as per attached screenshot Expected results: panel should resize to be smaller. Additional info:

I don't think this bug is duplicate after reviewing the referenced bug 505855. That bug is in reference to the panel not staying maximized across differing screen resolutions, whereas this bug refers to the fact that the panel does not automatically resize when the system tray's autohide icons are hidden and shown.

Not my bug, but I guess that proves that it is an upstream issue: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191051
