The version 2.4.1 in rawhide is from March 2007. The latest upstream release is from July 2009. Do you still maintain the package? Otherwise I would be willing to take over the package.
I've been a bit overwhelmed with other open source stuff (and work that no longer has me in a position to notice when SEC is out of date). You're welcome to take over the package.
No problem at all. As soon as you marked the package as orphaned in pkgdb I will take over it.
Done. I think. :)
Jep, got it ;-) One question left. All the examples in /etc/sec/example come from a source I cannot verify anymore. All the links seem to be down. So I cannot make sure that the license of the examples still conform. Do you have any idea about the examples? Otherwise I guess I'm forced to remove them. What are your thoughts?
The link from the BSD examples works for me: http://sixshooter.v6.thrupoint.net/SEC-examples/article.html Most of the others appear to be here: http://kodu.neti.ee/~risto/sec/ http://kodu.neti.ee/~risto/sec/rulesets/ (found via a quick google for a comment string in one of the examples) Looks to me like it's a mirror/replacement of the official SEC homepage: http://www.estpak.ee/~risto/sec/ -Chris
Ah perfect. Thanks for the URLs. Packaging is in full process now ;-)
