Description Stefan Schulze Frielinghaus 2009-09-19 21:21:50 UTC
The version 2.4.1 in rawhide is from March 2007. The latest upstream release is from July 2009. Do you still maintain the package? Otherwise I would be willing to take over the package.

Comment 1 Chris Petersen 2009-09-19 21:41:04 UTC
I've been a bit overwhelmed with other open source stuff (and work that no longer has me in a position to notice when SEC is out of date). You're welcome to take over the package.

Comment 2 Stefan Schulze Frielinghaus 2009-09-19 22:46:29 UTC
No problem at all. As soon as you marked the package as orphaned in pkgdb I will take over it.

Comment 3 Chris Petersen 2009-09-19 23:48:26 UTC
Done. I think. :)

Comment 4 Stefan Schulze Frielinghaus 2009-09-20 11:58:37 UTC
Jep, got it ;-)

One question left. All the examples in /etc/sec/example come from a source I cannot verify anymore. All the links seem to be down. So I cannot make sure that the license of the examples still conform. Do you have any idea about the examples? Otherwise I guess I'm forced to remove them.

What are your thoughts?

Comment 5 Chris Petersen 2009-09-20 18:24:01 UTC
The link from the BSD examples works for me:

http://sixshooter.v6.thrupoint.net/SEC-examples/article.html

Most of the others appear to be here:

http://kodu.neti.ee/~risto/sec/
http://kodu.neti.ee/~risto/sec/rulesets/

(found via a quick google for a comment string in one of the examples)

Looks to me like it's a mirror/replacement of the official SEC homepage:

http://www.estpak.ee/~risto/sec/

Ah perfect. Thanks for the URLs.

Packaging is in full process now ;-)
