Description of problem: With kernel-2.6.31.1-48.fc12.x86_64 the screen fills with a gray pattern (and thin vertical lines) during boot and never recovers (the system itself is ok I hear pulseaudio hissing like a cat in the pc speaker which means it reached gdm, and switching blindly to a console then crtrl+alt+del works fine; the pattern stays on even in console mode) Booting on the same system with kernel-2.6.31.1-46.fc12.x86_64 works normally

I had to reboot after a crash ; this time I got the pattern with -46, and after a reset -48 worked
this sounds quite bogus to me, then. probably some kind of hardware issue. closing unless you can come up with a more reliable reproduction scenario...please re-open in that case. -- Fedora Bugzappers volunteer triage team https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers
