Description Gene Czarcinski 2009-09-27 03:59:12 UTC
Description of problem:
Defining an lvm partition ("/") causes anaconda to die. Debug info is attached.

I believe that this problem is actually in lvm2 although I am reporting it against anaconda ... why the sudden usage of /dev/dm-N rather than /dev/mapper/<whatever>

Currently, this should be a show-stopper for F12 beta!

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
DVD used was hte "pre beta test"
Fedora-20090923-x86_64-DVD.iso

How reproducible:
everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. define qemu-kvm guest for install
2.define lvm partition for root ("/")

Actual results:
dies

Expected results:
works

Comment 2 Joachim Frieben 2009-09-27 10:20:36 UTC
Use Fedora-20090923-x86_64-DVD.iso or a recent boot.iso image to perform a network install from the current "rawhide" tree. The issue was fixed in "rawhide" on 2009-09-25 issuing new packages for lvm2, device-mapper, etc.

Comment 3 Gene Czarcinski 2009-09-27 18:15:23 UTC
Tested:
http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/12-Beta-TC/Fedora-12-Beta-TC-x86_64-DVD/Fedora-12-Beta-x86_64-DVD.iso

Works now. Closing as fixed in rawhide
