EPEL doesn't inherit from Fedora via upgrades, so it's better to keep this ticket open until somebody prepares an update for EPEL.
I know EPEL updates don't come from Fedora... :-P However. Who is going to do the update? And when?

Fedora EPEL 5 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-03-31. Fedora EPEL 5 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates.
