Description of problem: KVM virtual guests provisioned from Satellite webui fail to restart after installation / kickstart of new guest successfully finishes. (restarting the guest after installation finishes is what rhn-kickstart used to do in pre-cobbler era). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rhn-virtualization-5.3.0-12 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Satellite 5.3.0 (or later), register RHEL-5 KVM host to it (RHEL-5.4, x86_64, full virt support) 2. Create a virtual guest KVM kickstart profile & provision a KVM guest from satellite webui. 3. See the guest installation all the way to the end. 4. Observe whether or not the guest restarts after the installation finishes. Actual results: The guest stays down. To start the guest, you need to intervene manually. Expected results: Guest should start, no manual steps should be required. Additional info: Described behavior affects both KVM & Xen guests. This change came with koan / spacewalk-koan as a client side packages handling client provisioning.
