Please update wxMaxima to 0.8.3a. 0.8.3a fixes a severe problem saving the worksheet with png plots to wxmx format. It also adds fancy jsMath font for the display. jsMath font can be obtained at http://www.math.union.edu/~dpvc/jsmath/download/jsMath-fonts.html It has been packaged for debian, not yet for Fedora.
I can help make the update happen. Unfortunate about the use of jsMath fonts, they're close to lyx/mathml fonts that already exist in fedora too. I'll contact the author, see if we can avoid yet-another-fork of bakoma tex fonts
thank you. The only font that is essentially missing in fedoa is the cmti10 one. If we can add that one to maths-fonts then a minor patch that maps to fedora font name should do it.
wxMaxima-0.8.3a-1.fc11 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 11. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/wxMaxima-0.8.3a-1.fc11
fyi, submitted jsMath-fonts for review: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=531040
Long story-short, jsMath-fonts have a different development history than the lyx-derived ones, and little change (at least in the short term) of merging efforts or sharing here.
