Description of problem: Right now I have the orange 'updates available' icon in my notification area. The tooltip is 'There are 2 updates available'. If I click on it, the orange icon disappears, and I get the normal window with 'There are no updates available', with the 'All software is up to date' dialog. Clicking on 'OK' causes the orange icon to reappear with the same tooltip. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-packagekit-2.28.1-1.fc12.x86_64 How reproducible: 100%
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle. Changing version to '12'. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
I had a slightly different behaviour: - The tooltip says there's 1 update avaliable - gpk-update-viewer shows 1 update available on the uppper caption, but the tool shows nothing to update After some time dealing with the issue, I don't know why but I acts in the way Bill said: the icon is there with 1 update available, but gpk-update-viewer says everything it's all right. gnome-packagekit-2.28.2-0.2.20091116git.fc12.i686 here.
Juanjo, so you are seeing the same situation as in the screenshot in bug 542026?
Muchal, Yes, just the same situation. Anyway it seems quite confusing, I don't see how to give proper information for this issue. In last update the icon appeared, I clicked on it an nothing happened. After that I executed yum update on a console and it updated several packages.
Sometimes I have the same problem.
