From what I see, the only version of vpnc in the EL5 repo for EPEL is 0.4.0. Not only is this very old, but 0.4.0 won't work with many VPN servers, specifically the VPN gateway used by my employer. In my case vpnc 0.5.1 or higher is required. For now I've built from an F11 SRPM, but it would be much nicer to see this version supported in EPEL.
vpnc-0.5.3-6.el5 has been submitted as an update for Fedora EPEL 5. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/vpnc-0.5.3-6.el5
Don, Can you test this and let me know if it works please?
vpnc-0.5.3-6.el5 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 5 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. If you want to test the update, you can install it with su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update vpnc'. You can provide feedback for this update here: http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/EL-5/FEDORA-EPEL-2010-0008
Just added the EPEL 5.3 repo package to my CentOS 5.4 machine, and it still only saw vpnc 0.4.0. I didn't see any EPEL 5.4 repo package.
oh it's in testing, sorry, I'll run that test shortly.
Enabling updates-testing gave an error that there was no updates-testing repo. I enabled epel-testing, but it still only sees vpnc-0.4.0-2.el5 from the epel repo.
Hi, Looks like you do not have your EPEL repos properly setup, try this: 1. Install http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm. This should setup the repos for you 2. su - 'yum --enablerepo=epel-testing update vpnc' This works for me, let me know if you see any issues.
vpnc-0.5.3-6.el5 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 5 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
