Description Tim Waugh 2009-10-28 09:43:58 UTC
Description of problem:
Landscape PDFs get printed onto portrait pages, squishing them all up. Evince didn't do this in F-10 or F-11.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evince-2.28.1-3.fc12.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Double-click on attached landscape.pdf from nautilus view
2.Click Print
3.Click Print Preview (or actually print it)

Actual results:
Document has lost its aspect ratio altogether.

Expected results:
Printed output matches document.

Additional info:
Evince should send PDFs directly to the queue if it supports it. With CUPS, this is easy to check by examining the document-format-supported IPP attribute for the queue.

By the way, of course 'lp landscape.pdf' works fine. ;-)

Hi,

I backported patches from gnome bugs #599468 and #599470. These fix the problem for me (see evince-2.28.1-5.fc12).
Btw, evince had been sending PDFs to CUPS but it had to be reverted upstream since it didn't work properly (evince's commit 0ea65770661ff5769d7539afb77dd634a78e9fd4).

Regards

Marek

Great, thanks. Works here too.

Hope the direct-PDF problems can be worked out in future.
