I can confirm this bug with "banshee-1.5.3-1.fc12.i686".
I have attached the error output in the preceding post because it is quite lengthy.

Comment 5 Christian Krause 2010-04-15 19:25:01 UTC
Most likely this bug is fixed in the new banshee 1.6.0 which is currently in updates-testing. Here are the instruction how to install it:

taglib-sharp-2.0.3.7-1.fc12, banshee-community-extensions-1.6.0-1.fc12,
banshee-1.6.0-1.fc12, beagle-0.3.9-17.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12
testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this
bug report.
If you want to test the update, you can install it with
 su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update taglib-sharp
banshee-community-extensions banshee beagle'. You can provide feedback for
this update here:
http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/taglib-sharp-2.0.3.7-1.fc12,banshee-community-extensions-1.6.0-1.fc12,banshee-1.6.0-1.fc12,beagle-0.3.9-17.fc12

Comment 6 Ian Finlayson 2010-04-15 19:46:05 UTC
Thanks Christian that did indeed fix the problem. Not that it matters now, but I noticed that (before upgrading) the bug would also go away if I enable the Play Queue extension.

Ok, good that it works for you! It would be great if you could test banshee in F12 a little bit and provide (hopefully positive ;-) ) feedback in bodhi:

http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/taglib-sharp-2.0.3.7-1.fc12,banshee-community-extensions-1.6.0-1.fc12,banshee-1.6.0-1.fc12,beagle-0.3.9-17.fc12

This will help to push out the new version with the fixed video support rather sooner than later. ;)

Thanks!

Christian
