Verified this with kvm-83-105.el5_4.10 in intel host, this problem does not exist.

# uname -r
2.6.18-164.6.1.el5
# rpm -q kvm
kvm-83-105.el5_4.10

CMD:
/usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -rtc-td-hack -no-hpet -usbdevice tablet -drive file=win23k-32-virtio.raw,if=virtio,boot=on -cpu pentium3 -smp 2 -m 4G -net nic,macaddr=20:20:20:33:34:16,model=virtio,vlan=0 -net tap,script=/etc/qemu-ifup -monitor stdio -vnc :1

1) -cpu qemu64,model=2   : -pass
2) -cpu qemu64,model=3   : -pass
3) -cpu qemu64,model=6   : -pass
4) -cpu qemu64,+sse2     : -pass  
5) -cpu pentium3         : -pass
