Description David Woodhouse 2001-09-06 13:49:32 UTC
battery_applet doesn't dock into the panel when run from the command line,
and the file which would allow you to start it from the panel is missing.

battstat_applet doesn't allow you to show as much information in the same area.

Comment 1 Alexander Larsson 2001-09-06 14:58:21 UTC
Hmm. We removed the dekstop file to unclutter the menus from duplicate
functionallity. It's really strange that starting the battery_applet doesn't
make it show up in the panel though. All other applets do that.

Comment 2 Alexander Larsson 2001-09-06 15:00:12 UTC
Ok.
If you start it with "battery_applet --activate-goad-server=battery_applet" it
works.

Comment 3 David Woodhouse 2001-09-06 15:10:54 UTC
Strange to unclutter the menu by removing the applet which is on the panel by
default, rather than by removing the other one.

Comment 4 Alexander Larsson 2001-09-06 15:16:40 UTC
No. We changed the default.
If you've got an old user you probably have the old default.

Comment 5 David Woodhouse 2001-09-06 15:20:21 UTC
I just removed ~/.gnome* and logged in again. Got battery_applet. Where are the
defaults found? I'll check the packages are installed properly.

Comment 6 Alexander Larsson 2001-09-06 15:34:14 UTC
No, you're right. Crap. The defaults are hardcoded in the panel code.
To late to fix though.

Comment 7 Havoc Pennington 2002-04-09 21:46:46 UTC
I fixed this in rawhide a week or two ago.
