When we build 64 bit packages for epel/fedora, we usually need only 64 bit libraries. And we should use 32 bit architecture for building 32 bit packages. So I suppose multilib_policy = best to [main] section of /etc/mock/*.cfg files for 64 bit architectures (x86_64, ppc64, and sparc64).
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle. Changing version to '12'. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
For example fedora-12-x86_64.cfg now contains: #exclude=[0-9A-Za-fh-z]*.i?86 g[0-9A-Za-km-z]*.i?86 gl[0-9A-Za-hj-z]*.i?86 gli[0-9A-Zac-z]*.i?86 glib[0-9A-Za-bd-z]*.i?86 # The above is not needed anymore with yum multilib policy of "best" which is the default in Fedora. But epel-4-x86_64.cfg and epel-5-x86_64.cfg still contain: exclude=[1-9A-Za-fh-z]*.i?86 g[0-9A-Za-km-z]*.i?86 gl[0-9A-Za-hj-z]*.i?86 gli[0-9A-Zac-z]*.i?86 glib[0-9A-Za-bd-z]*.i?86 which makes them broken for anything multilib in x86_64 mock chroot. Commenting out these epel-{4,5}-x86_64.cfg "exclude" lines works fine for me with F-12 mock+yum. Takanori, do you agree to just remove the "exclude" lines instead?
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '12'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
mock-1.1.5-1.fc14.noarch
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
I believe the changes proposed by Jan in #c2 have fixed the concerns on this bug (since the default multilib policy is 'best' on Fedora now). Closing as CURRENTRELEASE. If it's not fixed for you, please reopen.
Reopening. mock-1.1.14-1.fc14.noarch still contains the exclude lines for both epel-4-x86_64.cfg and epel-5-x86_64.cfg so it cannot work.
Nuked the exclude line from /etc/mock/epel-{4,5}-x86_64.cfg and removed the commented out section from the other x86_64 configs. queued for mock-1.1.16
