Let me ask you if there is any other application (package) in order to control my sound blaster live audio card ? I used to login to the Gnome version, but once I checked the KDE one, I noticed that there is a very good sound mixer for my sound card. Is there any corresponding solution for the Gnome ?

I am not an experienced user in Linux and I don't understand a lot of things to the moment. I must buy some books to learn Linux. I don't know how to try this patch. Anyway, I don't have any real problem. Thanks a lot for your interest.

(In reply to comment #20) Are you getting a traceback similar to the original reporter? Without looking at some error messaging or a traceback it will be difficult to understand if this is the same problem as originally reported or something different. -jef
